AMD-exclusive graphics card manufacturer Diamond Multimedia has just announced the spawn of a new collaboration with PC builder Smoothcreations and cooling specialist Danger Den, a card called Radeon HD 4870 XOC Black Edition. Equipped with a 800Stream Processor-bursting RV770 chip clocked at 800 MHz (750 MHz stock), the XOC has 512MB of GDDR5 memory set 4400 MHz (3600 MHz) and an appetite for GeForce destruction.
The new DirectX 10.1-supporting, PCI-Express 2.0 card features a firmware that enables the card to run with GPU and memory frequencies of 950 and 4800 MHz respectively and will start selling tomorrow at
Smoothcreations, likely as an option to the company's gaming PC offer. No word on the Radeon HD 4870 XOC Black Edition's price tag. Yet.
