Nvidia's total move towards 55nm has already been suggested and while it started out with the GeForce 9800 GTX+'s G92b chip, it will continue with the G96 (GeForce 9500 GT) and G94 (GeForce 9600 GT). The latter GPU, the G94, will apparently get a very discrete die shrink meaning Nvidia won't be advertising the 'new and improved' card in any way, thus leaving it some headroom as to clearing out the stock of 9600 GTs with 65nm G94s.

Apart from the die shrink, which will also come with a new name (G94-300-B1 as opposed to G94-300-A1), the 55nm-equipped GeForce 9600 GT is set to not feature any other improvements like higher working frequencies. Still. it should give board partners the opportunity to come up with new models with higher clocks so that may be a plus (+).
