Pocking AMD's eyes for 100th time (BEd: We're not really counting), Intel has today given the OK for the posting of "official" articles showing the performance of the upcoming Core i7 processors. Set to be introduced in two weeks time, together with X58 motherboards, the three Core i7 models prepared by Intel are the 2.66 GHz 920, the 2.93 GHz 940 and 3.2 GHz 965 Extreme Edition.
According to the reviews posted the Core i7 line-up is here to impress with the models being faster clock-per-clock than the 45nm Core 2 Quads. The performance increase doesn't apply to every application though with the Core i7 showing modest gains in certain games. Overall, everyone seems to agree the Core i7 is a processing powerhouse so all we ask is for Santa to fill out stocking with enough money for a CPU, 4GB of DDR3 memory and an LGA1366 motherboard. To see if you reach the same conclusion be sure to check out the Core i7 articles posted
