In addition to the
Athlon II X2 245 and 240 which were officially announced yesterday, AMD is rolling out another AM3 processor, an updated version of the quad-core Phenom II X4 945.
Priced at $225, like the 'regular' 945, the 'new and improved' X4 945 has a working speed of 3 GHz, 2MB of L2 cache and 6MB of L3 cache, and a TDP of 95W (125W for the initial model). Just what the doctor ordered for a hot summer day - a CPU running a bit cooler and consuming a little less power. Oh, and at least liters of water.
