Klipsch has finally cut the cords of its long-running ProMedia 2.1 speakers by delivering a wireless version of it. The THX-certified ProMedia 2.1 Wireless features a USB transmitter that can stream audio up to 30 feet, two speakers, each boasting a 3-inch fiber-composite cone driver, a subwoofer with a side-firing 6.5-inch cone,,a preamplifier control pod providing separate main volume and subwoofer level controls, and a maximum acoustic output of 106dB.

"The ProMedia is still the defacto 2.1 standard for computer speakers. It's been known to put some home stereo systems to shame, and we want to keep it that way - with or without wires," said Don Inmon, Klipsch director of product development for personal audio.

The ProMedia 2.1 Wireless is now available from Klipsch.com only in the US for $199.
