Steve Ballmer, CEO of Microsoft has announced this week that the sales of their new Windows 7 operating system are going out of the door more than twice as fast as any other version of their software.
Having launched on the 22nd of last month, Windows 7 has
"already sold twice as many units" as any previous version in the same period, according to said Ballmer, speaking at the software company's annual meeting in Bellevue, Washington, which was broadcast live on the Internet.
Of course, Microsoft gave no actual details or sales figures to support this statement, but both consumers and manufacturers alike have welcomed the new release, even considering the incredibly poor reception and odour that lingers around its predecessor, Windows Vista.
