When i press "download updates" this error pops up. After searching in google, I figured it was a Vista Problem. So i uninstalled Vista Trans Pack 2.0 and IT WORKS NOW. I didn't delete the themes and i change to vista themes it still works.

So, most likely this is a system file bug. I remember that i didn't have this problem from Vista Pack 1.0. It mite be the addons (glass2k,Lclock). Whatever it is, please look into it WindowsX. Thanx very much.

I find this strange. It is certainly not a universal bug in VTP2.0
I am using spybot, XPpro SP2 [ENG], and haven't had any problems.
I did a first-run install in normal mode, no probs whatsoever.
Are you using the latest spybot (1.4)?
Have you tried uninstalling spybot, then installing VTP, then reinstalling spybot?

I had the same problem with VTP 2.0 and spybot 1.4 sad.gif. The problem arose when trying to download updates. I have since restore to a restore point prior to VTP 2.0 to confirm this is the problem.

FYI - I'm running XP Home, SP2, AMD64, 1GB RAM, nvidia Geforce 6600.

BTW - I think you've done a great job on VTP smile.gif , shame about the bugs.

Some further information that might be useful. When trying to identify the source of the problem, I tried removing processes from memory through task manager. I pretty much removed everything apart from anti-viruses, firewall and main OS processes...using Avast antivirus and Sygate Firewall.

TeejK,
Are you running Vtrans pack 2? This is an old thread...
The system files dialog is part of the installation process.
If you have this problem, uninstall VTP, then reinstall. During the reinstall make sure any option to replace videos or "use Vista's videos" are UNCHECKED.

Yes, this is an old thread, but I'm on VTP 3.0 and I still have the same problem, I'm using Spybot 1.4.

Ok, if you don't wanna reinstall nothing much can be done...

Regarding the "green thing in the explorer window", guess you mean the task pane on the bottom...
If it's not there, go to folder options (from the control panel, or explorer menu bar ->tools -> folder options.
On the general tab, under Tasks, make sure "Show common tasks in folders" is checked.

Unticking the vista videos worked. Sybot updated perfectly.
