I hate WMP, it's slow, clunky, poor navigation setup, and a system hog, I don't ever use it unless I absolutely have to.

what you use then flying? Maybe i can use it 2:D

I use all sorts of combinations of different media players.

VLC Media Player
Media Player Classic (it's an open source media player based on when WMP didn't suck, you know, the good one from the 3.1, 95, and 98 days that was blazingly fast)
Winamp

All of these can be googled, MPC/Media Player Classic can be found on sourceforge.

Another decent open source one for *nix is actually called "Helix" it allows for realmedia to be played on *nix.

In the end it's all up to the end user who decides.

For most things for I use winamp. I have found nothing wrong with winamp. But for some of the videos that dont work like DVDs I use PowerDVD, or .ogg, .mkv, ect. I use zoom player along with the k-codec pack.
