In order to disable Windows File Protection you need to modify one registry entry and one essential system file ("sfc_os.dll" in Windows XP/2k3, "sfc.dll" in Windows 2k SP2 and higher, no system file in Windows 2k Gold/SP1).

Windows File Protection Switcher first determines on which version of Windows it is currently running.
Then it makes several checks to determine wether WFP is currently enabled or already disabled.
After that it checks wether "sfc_os.dll" resp. "sfc.dll" is already patched ("unlocked") or not.
If there is no need to modify "sfc_os.dll" or "sfc.dll" it simply changes the certain registry information (HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\SFCDisable).
If "sfc*.dll" is "locked" it first patches the file and then modifies the registry.

"Sourcecode" will be available with the final version of Windows File Protection Switcher.
